About Me
I began quilting more than 30 years ago when my children were young. It was a way to relax and express myself creatively while my little ones were playing. I hand quilted every project and had quite impressive callouses! As I ventured into machine quilting about 10 years ago, I learned to manipulate a queen sized quilt sandwich under the arm of my domestic machine.

THEN... I was introduced to longarm quilting on an Innova. I took a course and rented the machine only once before I realized I wanted to retire from elementary teaching and take on a new business in longarm quilting. My new business, Montana Made Quilts, was opened in Polson, MT after practicing on my own quilts (and my mom's - thanks MOM!!!) for 2 years.

Other juicy details! I am married to Bret (for over 33 years) and we have 3 grown children. We moved to Montana from Las Vegas a couple years ago as Bret returned to his childhood home in Rollins. We then bought a home in Polson and I work this business out of my garage. I love gardening and figuring out how to use local vegetation in everyday life. I have a rare neurological condition called orthostatic tremor. That means I cannot stand still for more than a couple minutes - I desperately need to move or sit. But I don't let this stop me from doing anything. I have coping strategies! I am determined and resourceful. I care about producing a quality product and always pay attention to the little details. I LOVE all aspects of quilting - except binding. :) However, if you pay me to bind your quilt I will do a good job.
